The Best Book I Read Last Year
I’m late getting to my wrap-up of books that I read last year, so I’m not going to make a list of ‘My X Many Best Books of 2012’.
I’m just going to remind you about the book that had the greatest impact on me during the year: the non-fiction The Story of Stuff by Annie Leonard. I hope you will visit the project web-site to get some background on this terrific eye-opener.
As for all the other 138 books I read last year, I’ve prepared pages for my blog, listing them alphabetically by author, and by rating within categories. A few of the ratings have been adjusted since my monthly round-ups, for after-effect and the results of comparing with the larger group. If you’re interested, please click on the links.
And that’s it – good-bye, books of 2012!
I still haven’t done a 2012 round-up and at this point I’m not sure I’m going to. I was looking through my list of reads the other day and while I read some really good books, nothing stood out as completely blow me away and leave me gasping for breath. I guess that disappointment made me conclude I wasn’t going to try and do a best of. 🙁
That’s how I felt about my 2012 fiction reading, too, Kristen. 🙁
Doh. I was just about to add this to my TBR and I see it’s already there. Some might say that’s a sign of an out-of-control TBR. *shakes head* Or, just the sign of a really good book. Thanks for reminding me that I need to read it!
I’m very interested in what you think of The Story of Stuff when you do read it.
