Time Travel Reading Challenge 2012
COMPLETED
I love books that involve time-travel – always have, probably always will – so The Time Travel Reading Challenge appeals greatly to me. And because at least one book on my 2012 reading list “takes me back”, and I’d like to add another in this genre if I can fit it in, I’m taking it on.
Books from other challenges count as long as they are about time travel and they can be children’s, middle-grade, YA or adult fiction. If this intrigues you, there’s a list of suggested titles on the sign-up page.
I’m entering at the Surprise Trip level that requires me to read 1 – 3 time travel books. Thanks to Laura at Library of Clean Reads for hosting this.
1. 11/22/63 by Stephen King
2. A Dog’s Journey by W. Bruce Cameron
Hi Debbie,
Thanks for joining me on this challenge! I look forward to reading your reviews.
Thanks for the Welcome, Laura – I’m sure this will be great fun.
I love time travel but didn’t think of doing this challenge ever. There are some good ones out there: Time Traveler’s Wife, the Connie Willis books, When You Reach Me, and the new Stephen King come to mind right away. Maybe I should do it … except I read most of these books already. Have fun with it!
I’ve read the Time-Traveler’s Wife & When You Reach Me (wasn’t that GREAT?), too, Mrs. J. I could always re-read a couple of Jack Finneys – LOVE those….but I’m sure I’ll find more. Although I’ve never read Stephen King (just seeing his name will make me skip by a book), I’ve heard that 11/23/63 has time travel too.
Hi Debbie, I’m new to reading challenges so I joined the T.T. challenge and I’m taking a tour and getting to know everyone. Love the vibe of your blog. I’ve never read When You Reach Me so I’ll have to put that on my list. Currently I’m reading the time travel Lady of Hay by Barbara Erskine which was recommended by a sister-in-law who never steers me wrong.
Hi, Kate. Thanks for dropping by! I think you’ll really enjoy When You Reach Me. It was one of my favourite books of 2010 and I’m really looking forward to the re-read.
