Oh, Happy Day: Snow in April
April8
Our late winter storm: I don’t think there’s quite the 15 cm (6 in) they forecast, but there’s sure the ice pellets mixed with it, as they warned.
The bright side is, it’s been too cold (expected of this season) for many buds to have appeared so nothing’s been ruined by last night’s weather activity.
Let me guess: warm & sunny where you are?
So pretty!
Yes, I suppose, Bonnie. But I’m pretty tired of this particular kind of pretty. 🙁
How did you guess? 🙂 I guess that mean we would easy trade climates with each other. I’m such a winter person. At least nothing was ruined.
I’d be happy to trade, Vasilly. I am so ready for warm & sunny. Winter’s okay but it lasts far too long – and I would NEVER say that I am a winter person.
Oh …NO! I recall an April 1 (Fools) snowstorm in MA one year…yikes.
Awwwwww. Bummer. Good thing your plants were smart enough not to bloom yet. I still have Pine Siskins and Juncos hanging around my feeders. They apparently are not fooled by the warm weather and haven’t migrated north yet.
And yes, it’s warm and sunny here in Chicago and everything is blooming. My apple tree is full of flowers. If we get a freeze now the fruit crops will be ruined.
Yup, Leslie – pros and cons. Smart wee birdies.
Wet and freezing hail here (Scotland) and it snowed last week! The cherry blossom is still hanging on though.
I’m glad to hear the blossoms are holding on, Katrina. It’s terrible when a crop is ruined by freakish storms.
